Our Story

Anchored Academy began with a simple desire:

What if girls had a place where they could create, grow in confidence, discover their God-given strengths, and be deeply rooted in Christ?

As Anvil Academy North continued to grow, Ben’s wife, Alie, watched boys flourish through hands-on projects, biblical teaching, meaningful challenges, and relationships with caring mentors. She saw them gain confidence as they learned to use tools, complete difficult projects, and recognize that God had created them with purpose.

With seven girls in their own family, Alie began dreaming about something similar for girls.

She wanted to create a space alongside Anvil where girls could learn practical skills, work with their hands, explore their creativity, and develop the courage to try hard things. Most importantly, she wanted them to understand that their identity and worth are not determined by appearance, achievement, popularity, or the expectations of the world.

Their identity is anchored in Jesus Christ.

From that vision, Anchored Academy was born.

Anchored is a hands-on discipleship and leadership program created to help girls grow spiritually, creatively, practically, and relationally. Through woodworking, crafting, design, hospitality, outdoor activities, and other meaningful projects, girls are encouraged to build confidence, develop perseverance, serve others, and discover the unique gifts God has placed within them.

Our programs are about much more than completing a beautiful project.

Every lesson, conversation, challenge, and mentor relationship is designed to remind girls that they are known, loved, capable, and created for a purpose. We want them to have the confidence to use their voices, the courage to step into new experiences, and the character to lead with kindness, humility, strength, and faith.

Anchored Academy exists alongside Anvil Academy North as part of one shared vision: to provide young people with meaningful work, biblical truth, authentic relationships, and opportunities to become who God created them to be.

Our mission is to help girls become deeply rooted in truth and prepared to stand firm in a constantly changing world.

To build with their hands, lead with their hearts, and remain anchored in Christ.
